Mumbai witnessed a rapid increase in Corona cases. Mumbai has also identified the high rate of infections of contagious Omicron variants. In the wake of increased cases, Mayor Kishori Pednekar said that Mumbai is confident enough to handle the situation.
He reacted to the questions regarding the sudden rise in fresh Covid cases in Mumbai "We are ready for the third wave. We have liquid oxygen plants, have 30,000 beds other than hospital beds... jumbo Covid centers are ready. We can even deal with a tsunami of the cases."
In the wake of a sudden surge of Covid cases in Mumbai, authorities decided to close the school until January 31.
