Indore: In an attempt to take work-life balance seriously, an IT company in Indore has created software to tell employees "please go home" at the end of every workday. It reminds people when their shift is up and that it is time to go home.

Softgrid Computers' software works on a notification system that activates the moment an employee's shift is over. It also warns them that the office system will shut down in 10 minutes, reported Reuters. Chief Executive Ajay Golani said the thought behind this is providing employees with a good work-life balance so that they can spend time with their families and loved ones.

One of the employees Tanvi Khandelwal took to LinkedIn a week ago to share this new feature. She shared the picture of the notification on the company desktop. "They put this special reminder, which locks my desktop after business hours and issues a warning. No more calls and mails outside of business hours!! Isn't this fantastic?" The post already has close to 400,000 likes.

The company is taking its staff's physical and mental health seriously at a time when more researchers are exposing the harmful results of long working hours. A 2021 study from WHO also said that a work hour longer than 55 hours a week increases the risk of stroke by 35% and heart disease by 17%.
