UGC releases fellowships until October

In a notice released on Saturday, UGC informed that the monthly fellowships for research scholars until October 2020 have been released. Scholars whose monthly data could not be updated on Canara Bank portal by their respective institutions but were eligible for fellowships from January- March 2020 before the lockdown shall receive the fellowship.

The fellowship for November, the notice informs, is under process and shall be released soon.

Research fellowships and scholarships were earlier disbursed by UGC quarterly but were then made monthly via Direct Benefit Transfer considering the financial needs of research scholars.

Also, the notice informs that UGC is pursuing efforts to simplify the online process for timely disbursal of scholarships.
