Telugu devotees attacked at Kerala's Sabrimala Temple
text_fieldsHyderabad: Reports from Kerala indicate that a small group of devotees from the Telugu states were reportedly attacked at Sabarimala Temple on December 2.
According to accounts, the trouble began when two pilgrims questioned a shopkeeper about what they felt was an unusually high price for water bottles.
This reportedly led to a heated exchange, during which the trader is said to have struck one devotee on the head and allegedly pulled the Ayyappa mala worn by another, Siasat Daily reported.
Witnesses mentioned that the situation quickly escalated, prompting many devotees from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to gather outside the shop in protest.
Police officers eventually stepped in to calm both sides. Videos circulating on social media appeared to show the pilgrims confronting the traders.
