Journalist S.V. Pradeep

Thiruvananthapuram : A special team of Kerala police will probe the death of journalist who died in a hit and run near Karakkamandapam on Monday evening.

S.V. Pradeep was riding a two wheeler when a mini lorry hit him from behind and sped away. Pradeep's mother reportedly said her son had received threats.

S.V. Pradeep had previously worked with a few Malayalam TV channels before joining an online portal.

Of late, he had come out with some hard-hitting reports in the Kerala gold smuggling case.

Leader of Opposition Ramesh Chennithala and state BJP president K. Surendran demanded a thorough probe.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan quickly ordered for a special probe team headed by an Assistant Commissioner of Police.

The Kerala Union of Working Journalists also demanded a comprehensive probe into the case.
