After finding herself on stage with PM Narendra Modi during his address to a women's gathering in Thrissur, South Indian actor and classical dancer Shobana was seen in a BJP campaign supporting Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the BJP’s candidate for the Thiruvananthapuram constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Appearing alongside Chandrasekhar at a campaign event in Thiruvananthapuram on the occasion of Vishu, celebrated as the Malayalam new year, Shobana conveyed her support for his candidacy.

Describing it as a 'fan moment,' she reminisced about meeting Prime Minister Modi in Thrissur earlier this year during a mass gathering of women, further emphasizing her alignment with the BJP's political agenda.

Responding to inquiries about her potential entry into active politics or joining the BJP, Shobana maintained her stance as an actor with personal aspirations, suggesting that she would need to improve her Malayalam language skills before considering a role in political discourse.

Fellow actor and BJP member Suresh Gopi, who is contesting the election from the Thrissur constituency, had previously suggested that Shobana might venture into politics and even contest from the Thiruvananthapuram constituency under the BJP banner. The two actors share a history of collaboration in several films, including the critically acclaimed classic "Manichithrathazhu."
