RSS was aware that BJP paid CK Janu, reveals audio clip leaked

Kozhikode: The RSS was aware that the BJP paid JRP leader CK Janu, leaked audio between BJP Kerala Chief K Surendran and JRP treasurer Praseeda Azhikode suggests.

According to a MediaOne report, Surendran explains in the audio that Rs 25 Lakh is being handed over to JRP and RSS's organising secretary M Ganesh arranged the money. The audio record, which was leaked by Praseeda herself, span 1 minute 21 seconds.

For BJP, the assembly election campaign in Sultan Bathery was organised by the JRP under the leadership of Janu and other leaders. JRP needed money for campaign expenses, for which its leaders went to Manjeswaram to meet Surendran and spoke to him directly. They came to an understanding in the meeting, and the money was sent to Bathery through Ganeshan, Praseeda testified. On March 26th, BJP district secretary Prashant Malavayal handed over the cash to CK Janu at a homestay named Manimala Home Residence in Bathery. Praseeda said that the money was wrapped in a saffron cloth to make it look like pooja items. BJP representatives gave Janu the cash on the pretext of JRP, but Janu didn't hand it over to JRP leaders, she added.
