Wayanad: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi joined his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on the final day of campaigning for the Wayanad Lok Sabha bypoll on Monday, where he promised to transform the region into one of the world's top tourism destinations.

Rahul, addressing a gathering followed by a roadshow from Assumption Junction to Chungam Junction in Sultan Bathery, said, “As a challenge, I will help her (Priyanka Gandhi) make Wayanad the best tourism destination in the world.”

The by-election, scheduled for November 13, was called after Rahul Gandhi vacated the seat following his win in Raebareli in the recent parliamentary elections.

Rahul also shared that the people of Wayanad had taught him the significance of love in politics. “I did not use that word, but the people of Wayanad taught me that love has a great place in politics,” he said. He added that love and affection were key in combating hatred and anger.

A large crowd gathered along the road during the roadshow, showing strong support for the Congress leaders.
