Thiruvananthapuram: The Special Investigation Team that probed an alleged sexual assault case of a teenage boy by his mother in Kerala is reported to have found no proof in the complaint raised by the boy's father after six months.

The police arrested the woman in January after her 14-year-old son had given a statement against his mother of sexually assaulting him, said a report published in The News Minute. The woman was, later, released on bail with an order from the Kerala High Court.

The investigation officer Divya Gopinath IPS told The TNN that the details mentioned in the FIR under the POCSO registered against the woman could not be established for there was no conclusive evidence to prove its veracity. The medical report of the boy was also against making a charge sheet against the accused, the officer said.

After separating from the accused, the complainant was remarried and has been living in the Middle East. The complainant said that the boy narrated the incident to him when he had taken the boy with him to the Middle East and he accordingly registered a case with the complainant.

The child was counselled by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) chairperson N Sundanda to whom the boy repeated the allegations. The police arrested the woman on the report of the CWC.

Meanwhile, the mother said that her estranged husband pressured her son to give a statement against her. The boy's younger brother also reportedly said that their father pursued his brother to testify against the mother.

It was by the Kerala High Court's order, the Special Investigation Team took over the case and submitted the report in the court, saying that the assault case did not have any proof to establish the case against the mother.
