'No one could make me do inaugurations as an MP': Suresh Gopi
text_fieldsThrissur: BJP's MP in Lok Sabha from Kerala's Thrissur, Suresh Gopi, said that nobody should expect him to do inaugurations as an MP and added that nobody could make him do so. The actor-turned-politician said that he would only do inaugurations as an actor. Also, he will take remunerations for that too.
However, he said that he would use such remunerations for the welfare of society.
He said that he will continue to make films and spend 5 to 8 percent of the earnings from it for the benefit of the people and the society. According to him, he could only donate that much as per the rules. However, instead of spending the generated through that for individuals (as he claimed he did before he became MP) he will spend it for causes that benefit the society in large. He added that he will collect money from public for that.
But he assured me that he will take remunerations for inaugurations he does and he will never do those as an MP but as an actor.
He promised that he will come inaugurations as an actor and will take decent remunerations as same as his colleagues receives. However he claimed that he will not take a penny out of these remunerations but it will go to his trust.
He scoffs that he will be targeted for this also, but he asserted that when he was entrusted with responsibility by the people of Thrissur, then he didn't need the advice their advice, he told reporters. He claimed that it was already proven that he had the strength to do what he promised.
