More evidence of BJP leaders involvement in Kodakara robbery case out

Thrissur: With the finding of the rooms in a hotel was booked for the accused by the district level leaders, more proofs came out on the BJP leaders' involvement in the Kodakara black money heist case in Kerala.


Reports said that the accused stayed at the Hotel National Tourist Home on April 2 in the rooms booked by the BJP's district office. The theft took place on April 3.

It was reported that the accused stayed in No 215 and 216 rooms which were booked by the BJP district committee office. While the accused Dharmarajan stayed in 215 and Shamjir and Rashid in 216.

The money was brought in an Ertiga car. The employees have informed the police that Dharmaraj arrived in a Creta car. The investigation team procured hotel documents and CCTV footage.

Dharmaraj and driver Shamjir will be questioned again today.

Investigators had recovered Rs 9 lakh from the robbers. The money was found in the house of the sixth suspect, Martin at Vellangalloor. The investigation team also informed that the accused bought the car and gold after stealing the money.

The crime branch questioned BJP Alappuzha district treasurer KG Kartha in connection with the case. The arrested accused and BJP leaders had given statements that Rs 3.5 crore was delivered to Kartha. The investigation team also found that Kartha had been in touch with Dharmaraj, an RSS activist who had sent the money, several times over the phone.

It was on April 3, the gang robbed the car and Rs 3.5 crore in Kodakara. It was Dharmaraj's driver Shamjeer who had lodged a complaint with Kodakara police that an amount of Rs 25 lakh was looted from his vehicle. Further inquiries are underway to find the amount and clarify the source of the money.
