Missing for 26 days: 15-year-old girl, neighbor found dead in Kasaragod

Kasaragod: A 15-year-old girl who went missing nearly three weeks ago in Kerala’s Kasaragod district was found dead along with a 42-year-old man in a nearby village on Sunday, police said.
The girl, a resident of Paivalike village, had been missing since February 11, prompting an ongoing investigation to trace her. Her parents had raised suspicions about their neighbor, Pradeep, 42, who had also disappeared around the same time. Both their mobile phones had been switched off since the day they went missing.
On Sunday morning, a 52-member police team, assisted by local residents, conducted an extensive search in the area. The two were eventually found hanging from a tree near the girl’s house.
Her parents had filed a missing persons complaint with the Kumbala police on February 12. Given that both the girl and her neighbor had vanished together, authorities had intensified the investigation, deploying drones as part of the search efforts.
