Mahal collective protests against move to close Darul Uloom Deoband

Kochi: The secretariat meeting of the Mahall association called out the government's move to close down more than 100 Islamic institutions, including Darul Uloom Deoband.

The meeting said that the move to destroy Darul Uloom Deoband, which played a crucial role in the Indian freedom struggle, is a challenge to history.

It has been decided to hold the first annual conference of the Mahall collective on November 13 at the Muslim Jamaat Auditorium, Vaniyakkad, Paravur.

The meeting was chaired by Chairman Muhammad Vetta and patron V.H. Aliyar Qasimi inaugurated.

Working Chairman Sharif Puthanpura, V.M. Sulaiman Maulavi, K.K. Ibrahim Manjali, M.S. Aliyar Palakode, T.A. Mujeeb Rahman Thachavallat, M.M. Nadirsha, K.B. Kasim Paravoor, M.M. Muhammad Kunj Thottakkatukara, K.U. Muhammad Kanjoor, Anwar Feroz Aluva and others spoke.

District General Secretary C.K. Amir welcomed the meet, while District Secretary P.A. Nadir Shah proposed a vote of thanks.
