Kochi: In yet another cyber-duping in Kerala, a former High Court judge has fallen victim to a fraud. Justice A Sasidharan Nambiar lost Rs 90 lakh in the fraud that promised huge profits in the stock market. The fraud was committed by promising 850 percent profit through online share trading.

Based on the judge's complaint, the Hill Palace Police has booked a case against two individuals.

The fraudster gang swindled money from the judge several times from the 4th to the 30th last December. The gang met the judge through WhatsApp. The fraud was committed in the name of Aditya Birla Equity Group. The complaint states that the fraud was committed by those who introduced themselves as representatives of Aditya Birla Equity Group.

Then they lured him into investing in the stock market by promising him profits of up to 850 percent. The complaint also states that the money was then re-routed. The culprits involved introduced themselves as Ayana Joseph and Varsha Singh. The police have started an investigation by naming both of them as accused in the incident.
