Kerala govt orders probe into nursing student's suicide in Pathanamthitta
text_fieldsThiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has ordered an investigation into the tragic suicide of a nursing student in Pathanamthitta district. State Health Minister Veena George directed the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) to look into the incident, which occurred at the SME Nursing College in Chuttippara on Friday night.
The 22-year-old student, Ammu Sajeev, a final-year BSc nursing student from Thiruvananthapuram, allegedly took her own life by jumping from the third floor of the hostel building. Police sources revealed that the words "I quit" were found in her diary, which they believe may have been a final note before her death.
Her father had previously raised concerns with the college principal, claiming that his daughter was being subjected to mental torture by her classmates and that she felt her life was in danger. This complaint is now part of the ongoing investigation, as police continue to gather details surrounding the circumstances of her death.
The incident has sparked widespread concern, and authorities have pledged a thorough investigation to determine the factors leading to this tragic event.
