Kerala bids tearful adieu to actor Innocent

Thrissur: Kerala tearfully bade farewell to beloved actor Innocent on Tuesday as his body was interred at St. Thomas Cathedral Irinjalakuda with state honours.

Fans poured in their thousands to have a last glimpse of the veteran actor who died Sunday night after keeping indifferent health for long.

A large number of people, including ministers, civic representatives, political leaders and film stars showed up to pay respects to the actor.

Innocent was admitted to the hospital on March 3 after developing breathing issues and uneasiness.

“He was under our care and treatment since March 3, 2023. Covid related respiratory issues along with multiple organ failure and a cardiac arrest led to his death,” the hospital reportedly said in a statement.
