Kerala announces Higher Secondary results; registers 77.81% success

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala announced the results of the Higher Secondary and Vocational Higher Secondary examinations in the state. 77.81 per cent of Higher Secondary students qualified for higher studies, announcing the results, Kerala Education Minister V Sivankutty said. However, it is lower than the previous year, when it was 78.69 per cent. A total of 4,44,707 appeared for the Higher Secondary exam.

The success rate in Vocational Higher Secondary is 70.6 percent. Here also, a slight dip is observed since last year’s success rate was 71.42 per cent. 26,178 students appeared for the Vocational Higher Secondary exam, and 1,8340 qualified for higher studies.

The pass percentage in the Higher Secondary Science group is 83.25. The pass percentage in the Humanities stream is 69.16, and in Commerce is 74.21. In government schools, 73.23 per cent of students passed. The pass percentage in aided schools is 82.16, and in unaided schools is 75.91. The pass percentage is highest in Ernakulam district (83.09). The pass percentage is lowest in Kasaragod district (71.09). The SSC exam will be held from June 23 to 27.
