Govt employees to get Rs 4k bonus, advance salary of Rs 20k ahead of Onam
text_fieldsThiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has announced special bonuses of Rs 4,000 each to government employees in the state, ahead of Onam.
The employees who are ineligible for a bonus will receive an amount of Rs 2,750 each as festival allowances, Minister for Finance KN Balagopal announced on Monday. The amounts are the same as last year.
Minister Balagopal also said that individuals who fall under the category of service pensioners and those who have retired through the contributory pension scheme will be granted a distinctive festival allowance of Rs 1,000.
Additionally, a significant Onam advance of Rs 20,000 will be given to all government employees within the state. The part-time and contingent workers are also accounted for in this arrangement, with an Onam advance of Rs 6,000 designated for them.
All categories of employees, including contract-scheme employees who received festival allowances last year, will be eligible for the allowance at the same rate this year as well.
The Onam allowances are expected to benefit over 13 lakh employees.
