IUML asks Kerala Guv to focus on governor's duty, leave religion to scholars
text_fieldsKozhiode: KPA Majeed, a member of the Indian Union Muslim League's state leadership, said that there are scholars here to talk about religion and that Arif Mohammad Khan should carry out the governor's duties.
It is not for a non-religious individual who does not follow religious practices to comment on or interpret religious law. "It is enough for the governor to do the work entrusted to him," Majeed said.
Even earlier, Kerala Governors has shown a tendency to follow the lead of the Sangh Parivar and had been more loyal than the king. The hijab controversy in Karnataka has caused great concern among minorities inside and outside the country.
"Currently, the Karnataka government is acting in an anti-democratic and unconstitutional manner. We have decided to deal with this from a legal and political standpoint, "said KPA Majeed.
There hasn't been a problem with hijab in Kerala, but the Governor is also trying to divide secular Kerala as well. In the history of Kerala, no governor has ever been involved in political controversy. But Arif Mohammad Khan, he blamed, has made it a practice to create controversy constantly.
"Having said that, he would do well to remember that Sangh Parivar agenda won't work in Kerala. Arif Mohammad Khan was a man who stood up against Muslims in India in the campaign against Islamic Sharia. He is trying to repeat this history by taking advantage of the hijab row. The governor should cease criticizing religion and religious law while occupying a constitutional position," he added.
Majeed also said that Kerala has a tradition of respecting all religions and religious traditions..
