Kozhikode: The biography of prominent expatriate industrialist and founder of Jaleel Holdings and Thadaakam Foundation, M.V. Kunjumuhammed Haji, titled ‘Thadaakam’, was released at a grand event in Kozhikode.

The English edition, authored by A. Rashiduddin and P. Sudhakaran and published by Madhyamam Books, was unveiled on Friday. MLAs Thottathil Ravindran, N.K. Akbar, M.N. Karassery, Vadakkekad Panchayat Vice President Nabeel, Madhyamam Chief Editor O. Abdurahman, C.P. Kunjumuhammed, P.K. Parakkadavu, Dr. Idrees, U.K. Kumaran, Malabar Group Chairman M.P. Ahmed, former MLA K.V. Abdul Khader, O.M. Muhammed, P.T. Ajay Mohan jointly presided over the launch.

Earlier, the Malayalam edition was released in Dubai, with a copy received by Opposition Leader P.K. Kunjalikutty from M.V. Kunjumuhammed Haji.


P.K. Kunjalikutty described Haji's life as an inspiration for the new generation. Madhyamam Chief Editor O. Abdurahman noted that the book reveals the growth of an ordinary man from humble beginnings, motivating youth to overcome obstacles.

The event announced the JDT-proposed Rehabilitation University, with Jaleel Holdings pledging a 50,000 sq ft building for engineering college and polytechnic campus; launched by P.K. Kunjalikutty, Thottathil Ravindran MLA, former MP Ramya Haridas, JDT President Dr. P.C. Anwar, Dr. Idrees, C.P. Kunjumuhammed, M.P. Ahmed, and M.V. Kunjumuhammed Haji.

A scholarship program in collaboration with CIGI and Jaleel Holdings was also declared, unveiled by MLAs P.T.A. Rahim, N.K. Akbar, CIGI General Secretary Dr. Z.A Ashraf, Dr. Habeebulla, Prof. A.B. Moitheenkutty, and Kunjumuhammed Haji. Kozhikode's tribute to Haji was presented by MLAs Thottathil Ravindran, P.T.A. Rahim, P.K. Parakkadavu, and U.K. Kumaran. Speakers included M.N. Karassery, V.M. Ibrahim, and Dr. Sakir.
