Thiruvananthapuram: Actor Arundhathi Nair's family has received a great deal of calls since her accident four days ago, which prompted her colleague Remyaa Joseph to issue a public request for moderation while they look for more details regarding the actor's condition.

Social media was flooded with reports of the accident that happened at Thiruvananthapuram's Kovalam bypass four days ago. According to information shared on social media, Arundhati, who was travelling with her brother reportedly suffered brain injuries.

“Please stop calling the G-Pay number given on the fundraising page, asking for more details about actor Arundhati Nair who met with an accident four days ago in Trivandrum and is in a critical condition (sic),” said actor Remyaa Joseph in an Instagram reel, Indian Express reported.

Arathy Nair, Nair's sister, verified on March 18 via an Instagram post that her sister was in fact suffering from potentially fatal injuries as a result of the accident.

Nair is “fighting for her life while being kept on a ventilator at Ananthapuri Hospital in Trivandrum”, Arathy said in her post.

More information on Arundhati's condition was then added to Joseph's reel, which was shared on Instagram. “Her ribs are broken, there’s a fracture in her neck bone, her spleen is damaged and there are blood clots, too,” Joseph stated in the reel.

According to Arathy, Arundhathi's sister, a lot of people started making fun of her family and friends for starting a fundraising drive for the injured actor.

The actor further asked that people refrain from contacting Nair's family incessantly in order to get further details. “I have attached a link to fundraising for Arundhathi on my page but please don’t keep calling the G-Pay number asking for more information. The family is in no situation to explain the medical procedures to everyone. We are going through more than what people are thinking, so please understand,” said Joseph.

As of Tuesday, the fundraiser page has been removed from the social media network.
