Kerala School public exams begin amid COVID-19 uptick

Thiruvananthapuram: Just as the state is facing an increase in COVID-19 cases, Kerala school public exams( remaining), deferred owing to lockdown, begin on Tuesday.
Exams are arranged in two sessions, with VHSE in the morning and SSLC in the afternoon. HSE exams are scheduled to start from Wednesday.
The Opposition raised voice against conducting exams as the state is freshly reeling under COVID-19.
Authorities say safety measures such as facial masks for students, teachers, parents and staff are mandatory.
Arrangements including soap and sanitizers and facility for thermal reading of students are in place.
A total of 13.74 lakh students are expected to take exams and authorities say no student will be left out due to lack of transportation or any other reasons.
