Kochi: For the first time in its history, Kerala High Court on Monday heard an argument via video conferencing, just as COVID-19 scare looms on the state.

Justice Raja Vijayraghavan heard eight bail petitions sitting in his chamber through Zoom video conference app, connecting advocates over it.

The advocates and the government pleader made submissions from the court hall.

In one instance of video conferencing, Advocate T A Unnikrishnan obtained a favourable order.

The court granted bail to Vasu and Anilkumar, the accused in a crime registered in Thenmala police station.

In another, the court refused to grant bail in a murder case related to killing of Sangeeth using an earth mover’s arm.
