Kochi: The High Court has asked the police to produce the case diary pertaining to the arrest of two students under UAPA charges in Kozhikode.
The division bench comprising Justices A. Hariprasad and N. Anil Kumar asked for the case diary while considering the petition filed by Alan Shuhaib and Taha Fasal who were arrested by Patheerankavu police on 1st November. The case has been scheduled to be heard on 18th of this month.
Both the students were charged under provisions of UAPA, after they were alleged to be in possession of leaflets and books published by a banned Maoist organisation.
The accused in the petition said that they were arrested under UAPA charges without any reasonable evidence.
