Thiruvananthapuram:  Director General of Police (DGP) Thomas Jacob  and currently under suspension is likely to be reinstated in state service.

The government is unlikely to go in appeal against the order of the Administrative Tribunal.

The related file has been transferred to Additional Chief Secretary and the final decision has to be taken by the chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

Thomas has been in suspension for two years.  Initially it was against his anti-government pronouncements about victims of cyclone Ockhi.  Subsequently,  the suspension term was extended several times over charges of writing a book without government consent and over irregularities in procurement of dredgers.
