Chengannur by poll: UDF and NDA candidates file nominations

Chengannur: The May 28 by poll for Chengannur assembly seat has gathered further steam as UDF and NDA candidates filed their nominations.

UDF candidate Adv. D. Vijayakumar and NDA candidate P.S. Sreedharan Pillai filed their nominations on Monday. LDF candidate Saji Cheriyan will file his nomination on Wednesday.

UDF camp is in much vigour as prominent leadesr lined up the campaigning for Vijayakumar.

LDF also is on high pitch as ministers including G. Sudakaran, Dr. TM Thomas Isac are in the field to lead a door to door campaign.

As election is just three weeks away, NDA is still struggling with in-house problems as BDJS has not yet joined the election campaign in full swing.

Absence of BDJS leaders in the election convention inaugurated by Union Minister Prakash Javadekar has caused fray in the BJP-led alliance. BDJS representatives were not present among those who accompanied Sreedharan Pillai to file his nomination.
