Kevin's Murder: Preliminary findings point to drowning
text_fieldsKottayam: Initial autopsy report point at drowning as the cause of Kevin's death. The death was caused by excess water intake. Autopsy examination found that though there were many injuries on Kevin's body, none of them was serious enough to cause death.
The report point out that Kevin was subjected to severe attacks and the phallus was crushed. There were 15 injuries on the body. Abrasions were also there on the body including the face. There are traces of hitting with weapons. Eyes are also seriously injured.
However, final report will be filed after the examination of internal organs. The police surgeon who conducted the autopsy handed over the initial findings to the police. The investigation team said that the real cause of death could be ascertained after the examination of internal organs. An expert team of doctors will ascertain if the damage sustained by the internal organs was the cause of the death.
The investigation team is looking into different possibilities of death. They are probing if it was a case of forcible drowning. Circumstantial evidence also will be examined. Police is going into three possibilities. One, Kevin was thrown into water in an unconscious condition by the gang after murdering him and later drowned. Two, Kevin fell into water when he was trying to escape from the gang. Three, he fell into water when the gang made him run.
Relatives have said to the police that Kevin did not know swimming. The gang members have told the police that Kevin escaped from them when their vehicle stopped at night and they got to know of the murder only the next morning. Police has not believed the statement fully.
The gang had once told Anish, who was abducted by them along with Kevin, that Kevin escaped and later said that he will not be able to see Kevin again if the girl is not returned.
