Abuse in theatre: mother of victim arrested

Edappal: The police have arrested mother of the 10 year old victim, who was sexually abused at a cinema theatre at Edappal.
On Saturday, Police had taken one Moideenkutty, a resident of Thrithala, who abused the girl.
It was learnt that the abuse happened with the connivance of the girl's mother.
A case was registered against the mother on Sunday under POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act).
The incident was reported from a cinema theatre at Edappal, happened on April 18. On April 25, the owners of the theatre informed the Childline authorities and handed over the visual records of the incident.
Though Childline asked the police to register a case againt the abuser, case was not registered until news surfaced in media after a fortnight.
Changaramkulam SI KG Baby has been suspended for the inaction.
The girl has been admitted to a childcare home at Manjeri.
