Kerala HC refuses to stay Nurses' pay revision
text_fieldsKochi: A Division Bench of Kerala High Court dismissed the petition filed by the state's private hospital managements against the government order revising the pay scales of nurses.
The managements had approached the court seeking to nullify the government's order. The demand was rejected earlier by a signle bench of the high court.
The government argued in the court that the order was issued in keeping with the norms. The court accepted this argument. The position of the managements was that the government fixed the minimum wages without consulting the managements, and therefore it was unacceptable. But the court did not concede this contention.
The government had issued orders fixing the minimum salary of nurses at Rs 20,000 per month, which had also revised the pay scales of non-nursing employees.
