Kochi: Two children and a helper drowned at Marad in Kochi after their school van fell into a temple pond. The children have been identified as Vidya Laxmi and Adityan. The caretake is Latha Unni.
The van was carrying eight children from Kids World Day Care Centre, Poonithura, at the time of the accident which happened around 4 pm on Monday.
Residents, including women, who witnessed the accident jumped into the pond to rescue the kids and the others.
One injured child, Carol (5), and driver Anilkumar (45) are in the ICU of a private hospital in the city.
