Probe about cyber hackers group

Nedumbassery: Investigations have begun regarding a group of cyber hackers that has been functioning illegally in the state under the guise of cyber investigators in a way challenging the Cyber Cell of the state police.

The investigations began following several allegations raised against the group including siphoning off money by threatening people. Many seek the help of such groups in the name of beneficial activities including finding and exposing in public those who abuse women.

The group hacks the ID of others to know their details. They even share screenshots after that.

However, it was during an investigation related to a case filed by a female civil police officer recently, that the cyber hackers were found to have been making a parallel operation in a way outdoing the police.

Also, the group has been found to engage in several activities on Facebook under different names. Although cyber experts are used to assist the police during investigations, parallel cyber policing is an offence.

Different complaints received against cyber hackers will be investigated along with this.

Most of those who function as cyber hackers reside abroad. Therefore it is difficult for the cyber police to access more information about them even if an investigation is carried out.
