Deepa Nishanth’s essay valuation cancelled, reevaluated

Alapuzha: In the face of protests, authorities on Sunday cancelled Deepa Nishanth’s valuation of entries in the essay competition for high school section at the State school festival.

Authorities had the essays revaluated. Deepa Nishanth, just emerging from a controversy over plagiarism, was one of the jurors in the essay competition.

Following protests, authorities assigned the duty to another juror and author Sathosh Echikkanam. Students outfit KSU raised demands for revaluation.

Earlier KSU activists protested as Deepa Nishanth arrived at the venue.
