Loknath Behera in the short list for CBI director

New Delhi: Kerala DGP Loknath Behera is reportedly in the short list of 17 candidates for the post of CBI Director as the embattled CBI Director Alok Verma’s term will come to an end on February 1.

The Union Home Ministry has made the list of top IPS officials from the 1983, 1984 and 1985 batches.

The department of Personnel and Training ( DoPT) will examine each candidate’s seniority, experience, efficiency and integrity, among others.

A search committee chaired by Prime Minister with others including Chief Justice of India, and the leader of opposition will make the final decision.
