Dileep says police trapped him in actress assault case, seeks CBI probe
text_fieldsKochi: Actor Dileep, who is currently out on bail in the actress abduction and sexual assault case, has sought a CBI probe into the case.
In a 12-page letter written to the state Home Secretary on Friday, the actor has sought investigating either by the CBI or any other agency into the case.
According to sources, Dileep has raised serious allegations against state police chief Loknath Behera and ADGP B Sandhya, who, the actor alleged, played prime roles in trapping him in the case. He said although he shared all the information with Behera, the DGP acted in a way that was unsuitable to the position he holds.
The actor, who was behind bars for 85 days in connection with the case, was finally granted bail on October 3.
During his 85-day incarceration, he was permitted to come out of the jail only for few hours on September 6 to enable him to perform certain rituals in connection with his father's death anniversary.
The popular Malayalam actress, who has also worked in Tamil and Telugu films, was abducted and allegedly molested inside her car for two hours by some men, who had forced their way into the vehicle on February 17 night and later escaped in a busy area.
Six persons, including key accused Pulsar Suni, were arrested in connection with the crime that was allegedly carried out over directions from Dileep.
