Thiruvananthapuram: Former Chief Minister and Administrative Reforms Commission (ARC) Chairman V S Achuthanandansharply critisied Vigilancesaying that the investigations on corruption cases are moving at a snail’s pace.

He was speaking during a workshop organised by Barton Hill Law College and Indian Institute of Public Administration in Thiruvanathapuram.

He said that no actions are being undertaken by the Vigilance as expected by the people. They people who talk against corruptions, forget things when they get power and position. Perhaps, they are pointing to technical and legal impediments for the delay in the probes. Whatever be the reason, nothing is happening as expected, VS said.

Reminding the public servants of their foremost duty that is of serving the public without corruption, VS said the government staff and administrators should look upon the public as their bosses. The officers leave the common man to suffer and help the rich by covering up corruption. It is sad that such acts do not even count as corruption, VS added.
