Kozhikode: Six persons, including three children, died and ten persons injured in a road accident at Adivaram, Thamarassery near here on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Subaida (45), Muhammed Nishan (8), Ayisha Luha (7), Fathima Shahana (5), and Abdurahiman. All are natives of Koduvalli.
The accident occurred on Kozhikode-Mysore national highway at Kaithappoyil at around 2.30 pm. when a jeep rammed into a private bus, en route to Kalpetta, while trying to overtake a car.
Jeep driver V C Pramod, a native of Wayanad, died at the spot.
The condition of some of the injured persons is critical. They have been admitted to Kozhikode Medical College.
