Thiruvananthapuram: V D Satheesan MLA on Wednesday said that the police under the LDF government led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan have been implementing Sangh Parivar agenda in the State.

The recent attack on Muslim youths at Vadakkekara in Ernakulam is a proof that the police are implementing the RSS agenda, Satheesan said.

“The RSS workers who attacked the members of Wisdom Global Islamic Mission were let off while the Muslims youths were arrested. That was a unilateral move. The police were soft on the RSS workers,” he said.

Satheesan said that there was nothing anti-national in the pamphlets the Wisdom workers distributed. The content of it was not that of triggering religious animosity, the Congress leader added.

Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala demanded that the FIR registered against the Muslim youths be annulled.

On Monday, Muslim League national general secretary P.K Kunhalikutty MP had said that state government had the responsibility to prove that it is not soft on the Sangh Parivar while dealing with issues related to the Muslim community.

The recent attack on Muslim youths at Vadakkekara in Ernakulam proved that mob attacks reached Kerala too, he said.

“The intervention of the state government in such incidents in the recent past too indicated that the government was pleasing the Sangh,” he had alleged.

At least 40 workers of Wisdom Global Islamic Mission arrested on Sunday at Vadakkekara in Ernakulam district on charges of attempting to trigger religious animosity in the society.

The accused were charged under section 153A, IPC (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language etc. and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony).
