Thiruvananthapuram: The government will file an appeal against a High Court order that granted a stay on a decision of the Thiruvananthapuram district administration to demolish a building owned by hotelier Biju Ramesh.

The file related to the case was handed over to the Chief Secretary by the Revenue Department Wednesday morning.

Earlier, the Thiruvananthapuram district administration had decided to demolish Ramesh’s Rajadhani Building at East Fort, which has been found to encroach upon the Thekkanamkara canal.

However, Ramesh moved the High Court against the administration and obtained a stay on the order.

On Sunday, Kerala Congress (M) had filed a complaint with the Chief Minister against the government’s ‘heedlessness’ in the case against Biju Ramesh, who had raised bribery allegations against K M Mani.

The Mani-faction that asked the government to file an appeal against the stay granted by the High Court against the demolition order accused the Revenue Department of trying to sabotage the case.
