Kochi: Bar owner Biju Ramesh has reportedly said in his statement to the crime branch that Swamy Sookshmananda had a role in the death of Swamy Saswathikananda.

“Swamy’s personal aide Sabu had given him insulin added milk before he went to take bath in the river,” Biju Ramesh said in his statement.

The crime branch submitted the report to the Kerala High Court today.

“Swamy Sookshmananda had influenced the officials to avoid a polygraph test on Sabu,” he said.

Biju Ramesh had earlier alleged that Swami had been murdered and that SNDP chief Vellapally Natesan and his son Thushar had a role in it. However, Vellapally rejected the charge.

Opposition leader V.S Achuthanandan had also demanded a comprehensive probe into the charges.

Swami Saswathikananda was found drowned in the Periyar river at Aluva on July 1, 2002.
