1 kg heroin seized at Cochin airport from African national

Kochi: DRI sleuths seized Heroin weighing 1 kg was from a female African national, who arrived at the Cochin international airport here on Monday.
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials caught Yvette Nahimana from Barundi, who reached the state from Nairobi in Kenya, by a flight via Sharjah. The haul is said to have been made on a tip-off about the passenger. The Air Arabia flight from Sharjah arrived at Cochin airport around 3 am on Monday.
Officials confirmed the parcel was heroin after conducting preliminary tests and determined the quantity of 1 kg.
Interrogation of the woman is on, and the arrest will be recorded soon, they said. More details about the seizure have not been revealed by officials.
