Covid: Saudi has seven deaths, Kuwait two; Qatar reports 146 recoveries

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia reported  that in the previous 24 hours seven persons died of Covid,  all of them  expatriates - four in Makkah and three in Jeddah. The total deaths so far is 191,  including 82 in Makkah and 50 in Jeddah.

1,645 new cases tested positive, bringing the total number of cases to 28,656.   

A total of 12,006 tests were conducted in the country over the previous 24 hours – 18 per cent Saudis and 81 per cent foreigners.   

342 patients recovered during the previous 24 hours.

KUWAIT

Kuwait: Covid infection was confirmed in 295 patients including 85 Indians.  Two died including an Indian aged 58 and a 70-year old national.  

This brings the total of  deaths to 40.  The country so far had 5,278 confirmed cases of whom 171 patients have recovered.

QATAR

Doha:  Qatar reported 146 cases of recovery from Covid,  the total recoveries now touching 1,810.

640 were confirmed with Covid infection on Monday.  Currently 14,369 cases are under treatment.   Of the total 1,06,795 tests conducted so far,  16,191 tested positive which includes both those who died and who recovered.

OMAN

Muscat:  Sultanate of Oman reported 69 fresh cass of Covid with which the total infected cases rose to 2,637. 

Of the newly confirmed cases 32 are foreigners.   816 patients have recovered so far.  In Muscat governorate,  12 people have died so far including one from Kerala.

BAHRAIN

Manama: 81  new cases were confirmed on Sunday, as informed by Health Ministry.  Of these 67 are foreigners and 13 got infection through contacts.   1,719 patients are receiving treatment currently.
