Covid: Saudi has eight deaths, Kuwait four; Qatar reports 679 new cases

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia reported a steep rise in Covid cases on Sunday: 1,552 tested positive, bringing the total number of cases to 27,011. 

A total of 3,52,555 tests were conducted in the country. 

In the previous 24 hours eight persons died of Covid,  one Saudi national each in Dammam and Jeddah , in addition to three expatriates in Makkah and one each in Riyadh, Madina and Jeddah.

369  patients recovered during the previous 24 hours, the total recoveries touching 4,134.   Of the total 22,693 patients under treatment, 139 are in serious condition.

KUWAIT

Kuwait: Covid infection was confirmed in 364 people including 122 Indians.  Four died including an Indian.

This brings the total of  deaths to 38.  The country so far had 4,983 confirmed cases. 

1,776 patients recovered including 73 on Sunday.  3,169 patients are under treatment of whom the condition of 29 is reported as serious..

QATAR

Doha:  Qatar reported 679 new Covid cases on Sunday,  and 139 patients recovered. 

Currently 13,875 cases are under treatment.   Of the total 1,04,435 tests conducted so far,  15,551 were confirmed as infected.   So far the country has had 12 Covid-related deaths.

OMAN

Muscat:  Sultanate of Oman reported 85 fresh cass of Covid with which the total infected cases rose to 2,568. 

OF the newly confirmed cases 64 are foreigners.   750 patients have recovered so far and 1,806 patients are under treatment.

UAE

Dubai: 564 new cases of Covid were confirmed across UAE on Sunday.   With this, the number of infected cases rose to 14,163.  99 patients have recovered,  thus total recoveries rising to 2,736.

BAHRAIN

Manama: 149 cases of recovery were reported on Sunday in Bahrain,  thus the total recovered cases touch 1,717.  72 new cases were confirmed on Sunday, as informed by Health Ministry.  Of these 67 are foreigners.  A total of 1,631 patients are under treatment.
