Caracas: In the continuing crackdown following the drone attack on the President, the pro-government Constitutional Assembly stripped two lawmakers of their immunity from prosecution.
Both were accused of having a role in the drone attack on President Nicolas Maduro.
Both Julio Borges and Juan Requesens thus lost protection after the National Constituent Assembly unanimously voted in favour of lifting their immunity.
Earlier the Supreme Court ordered the arrest of 48-year-old Borges who lives in Colombia. Meanwhile, Borges rejected the accusation.
The vulnerable Requesens was arrested on Tuesday.
