Youth vandalises neighbour's shop for running illegal activities.
text_fieldsKannur: A youth on Monday vandalised his neighbour's shop after alleging the owner for running illegal activities in the shop. 30-year-old Albin Mathew demolished his neighbour Soji Puliyarmattam's grocery shop after accusing him of running illegal activities like selling liquor and tobacco in the shop.
The incident took place in the Cherupuzha region of Kannur district, Kerala. The shop was reduced to rubble using an excavator.
Minutes before razing the shop to the ground, Albin posted a video of him on social media complaining about the illegal activities undertaken in the shop. "For the past thirty years, this shop has been used for nothing but for selling liquor and tobacco and for illegal gambling. There have also been two POSCO cases registered against the men in the shop," he says in the video. He also accused the police officials and village authorities in the area for not taking any actions even after filing several complaints against the owner and the shop.
Albin has also recorded his statement alleging Soji for stalling his five marriage proposals. However, Soji has declined the accusation. Albin had warned the police that he was going to vandalise the shop and surrendered himself after demolishing it.
The police later arrested and remanded him for the act.
