Pune: The set of rules on a café menu in the city has drawn attention on social media.

Some of the guidelines on Irani Café’s menue include ‘No flirting with cashiers’, ‘No mobile games', and 'No digging nose'.

An X user who may have visited the café has posted the list on the platform which quickly caught on, The Indian Express reported.

Many users are left speculating the reasons behind these hilarious rules and still many others are in splits.

24-year-old Joshua Manual, who is a regular patron of the café, said the rules simply cracked him up.

‘It’s hilarious. I’ve never seen a cafe with such a straightforward list of do’s and don’ts. The ‘No flirting with cashier’ rule cracks me up. I really want to know what led them to add that to the menu,’ Joshua Manual reported said.

With 14 outlets in the city, Irani Café is a regular haunt for many here.

The delicious food and quiet ambience gained the chain a large number of faithful customers.

Foods apart, the most interesting aspect is the café’s quirky menu that showcases non-nonsense attitude.

First time visitor Dhiraj Rai said the café is ‘refreshing’ because it ‘doesn’t take itself too seriously’.

Rai said that the rule ‘No free advice’ is just perfect for those who do not want to hear somebody’s thoughts.

Rules like ‘NO smoking’, ‘No credit’, and ‘No bargaining’ are common in cafes.

Irani Café has broken the mold to add some hilarious rules as well.

Athena Augustine, who is an Irani Café regular, said that the rules set the tone of the place.

One particular rule ‘No flirting with cashier’ according to Augustine could raise question about the incident behind it.

One customer summed it up: ‘It’s all in good fun and adds to the charm of these old-school places.’
