'Won't worship Hindu gods': people take pledge at an event involving AAP minister
text_fieldsNew Delhi: Over 10,000 people reportedly converted to Buddhism in the presence of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) minister, Rajendra Pal Gautam on October 5.
People who gathered at Ambedkar Bhavan in the national capital took a pledge to "not to worship Hindu gods and goddesses", according to India Today.
A video of the event reportedly showed the AAP minister and others taking an oath saying that they have no faith in Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara, alongside Rama and Krishna who are believed to be the incarnation of God.
Rajendra Pal tweeted to say that under the aegis of "Mission Jai Bhim' on Ashoka Vijayadashami, "more than 10,000 intellectuals took a pledge to make a caste and untouchable-free India."
Calling it a "breaking India" project, BJP's Amit Malviya said Arvind Kejriwal's minister Rajendra Pal was executing the "Breaking India" project and alleged that Kejriwal is the prime sponsor of this Hindu hate propaganda.
BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said in a press conference that it is an insult to both Hinduism and Buddhism, alleging that AAP minister was trying to incite riots.
