Kannada film Vikrant Rona is gearing up to join the bandwagon of pan-Indian films. The Sudeep-starrer's trailer was released on Thursday in multiple languages.

The short video of the fantasy action-adventure film looks like a mashup of Pirates of the Caribbean and Jurassic Park. It clearly celebrates its comic book flair and relies on the strong foundation of typical narrative beginning with introducing the context. Kiccha Sudeep, who also produced the film, looks at home in his brooding appearance.

A female narrator starts by introducing a strange village across a bridge going through a mountain. She continues to say the villagers are trying to hide a gruesome story. The filmmaker does not hide the fact the film intends to scare the audience as the narrator says: "You can hide the story but not the fear".

As the teaser released on April 2 indicated, the titular character is seen again in the trailer and he indeed has the reputation of the devil. Soon the visuals switch to a pleasant green south Indian village. Only the village is home to some mysterious old buildings and wells.

The hero soon enters amid a montage of the dark jungle and a ship. The local policeman informs him the entire village is like a maze. The trailer hints that Vikrant Rona is in the village to investigate missing villagers. The narrator also suggests: "What if the devil doesn't know he is the devil?"

The movie directed by Anup Bhandari also stars Nirup Bhandari, Neetha Ashok, Abhinay Raj Singh, and Jacqueline Fernandez. It will hit the screens on July 28 in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, Arabic, German, Russian, Mandarin, and English.
