PM Modi, Yogi to be supported to live in Hindustan: RPF man heard in now deleted X video after killing Muslim passengers

Mumbai: It can be argued that an argument with his senior had angered RPF Constable Chetan Singh, leading him to impulsively use his service revolver to kill his senior due to a short temper, as similar incidents of subordinates shooting at seniors have already been reported earlier.

But his killing of passengers on the Jaipur-Mumbai Central Superfast Express, especially after verifying their identity, is nothing but hate within him against Muslims that prompted him to unleash the cruelty. The eyewitnesses and purported video of Chetan speaking to other passengers, besides one of his victims, corroborate the extent of his communal alignment with right-wing ideology.

One of the eyewitnesses of the gruesome murder recalled that Chetan, after shooting dead his senior Tikaram Meena, Assistant Sub-Inspector, walked through coaches and began to pick his victims by asking their names. Chetan had shot dead Asgar Abbas Ali, Abdul Kadar Mohamed Hussain Bhanpurwala, and Syed Saifullah.

In a video reportedly caught on camera by one of the passengers in the coach, Chetan can be seen standing near the dead body of Saifullah, speaking incoherently about Pakistan and Indian media. He was also heard saying, 'To live in Hindustan, all have to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray.' However, the police are reportedly verifying the authenticity of the video, the X has removed the video from its platform following the Centre’s order.

Among the deceased, Saifullah's tragic story stands out, as he was on his way home to Hyderabad after visiting the Ajmer Sharif Dargah. Saifullah, a 43-year-old resident of Hyderabad's Bazar Ghat area, was the sole earner for his family, leaving behind his grief-stricken wife and three young daughters, aged 6 years, 2 years, and just 6 months old.

According to eyewitness accounts, Saifullah was travelling with Zaffar Khan, the owner of the premises where his cellphone repair shop was located. Both men were sitting on their berth when Constable Chetan Singh suddenly intruded into their B2 coach and demanded Saifullah's identity. At gunpoint, Saifullah was coerced into accompanying Singh, while Khan bravely objected, only to have the gun pointed at him as well.

The situation quickly escalated, with Singh leading Saifullah to the pantry car, where he mercilessly shot him. Khan, who was supposed to disembark at Borivali station, chose to wait for Saifullah's return at Mumbai Central Station. However, he was instructed to leave and return to his relative's house instead.

The tragic incident has sparked outrage and condemnation, with AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and Nampally MLA Jaffar Hussain Mehraj demanding justice for Saifullah's family. Owaisi revealed that Saifullah's identity was confirmed only on Tuesday afternoon.

The ruthless actions of Constable Chetan Singh have left behind a trail of devastation and heartache. Saifullah's uncle, Md Wajid Pasha, expressed their family's grief and anguish and labelled the act a "terrorist act," seeking a substantial compensation of Rs 5 crore for the bereaved family.

One of the eyewitnesses, Krishna Kumar Shukla, the coach attendant of B5 where the tragedy began, said that the incident reminded him of Ajmal Kasab’s shooting spree during the Mumbai terror attack, as he narrated the harrowing sequence of events.

Shukla said he heard a loud sound around 5 am, only to find RPF Constable Singh standing with a rifle as his senior, Meena, lay in a pool of blood. Shukla witnessed Singh arguing with another RPF personnel before fatally shooting Bhanpurwala in B4 and then killing Moinuddin in the pantry coach and Sheikh in coach S6.

To protect passengers, Shukla locked the door between B6 and B5, informing fellow RPF personnel. He later discovered Meena's lifeless body. Fearful but vigilant, Shukla ensured the safety of those under his care, navigating through the horrifying ordeal aboard the train.

The accused RPF Constable, Chetan Singh, was promptly apprehended with his weapon. However, the incident has left an indelible mark on the nation's consciousness, raising concerns about the safety and well-being of train passengers and the mental health support provided to railway personnel.
