UP woman changes gender to live with her girlfriend

Prayagraj: One of a lesbian couple in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj underwent a gender adjustment to blunt their families' opposition to their relationship.
The two women are 'madly in love' with each other but their families were dead against their relationship, according to India Today.
However, she tried vainly every which way to persuade both families to accept the love.
There was no way except one of the partners switching her gender which the woman did.
A team of doctors at Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital in Prayagraj put her to the sex reassignment surgery.
She underwent procedures to alter her upper body parts and chest restructuring, according to the report.
The doctors said it would take another 1.5 years involving surgery before she would become a man.
India Today quoted Dr Mohit Jain saying that the woman would be given testosterone replacement therapy, to stimulate the growth of chest hair.
Following the gender change, the woman, the doctor said, would not be able to conceive and become pregnant.
This is the first gender change surgery happening in the hospital, the doctor said.
The woman who has her health parameters checked is doing fine, the report says.
