Mumbai: United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer arrived in Mumbai on Wednesday for a two-day visit, during which he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to advance the India-UK strategic partnership.

Starmer, accompanied by a business delegation from London, was welcomed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, and Governor Acharya Devvrat.

The two leaders will meet in Mumbai on Thursday and participate in the CEO Forum and the sixth edition of the Global Fintech Fest. Their discussions are expected to review progress under the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, aligned with the ‘Vision 2035’ roadmap covering trade and investment, technology and innovation, defense and security, climate and energy, health, education, and people-to-people ties.

They will also interact with business and industry leaders, focusing on opportunities under the proposed India-UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, seen as a key pillar of future bilateral cooperation. In addition, the two prime ministers are set to exchange views on pressing regional and global issues while engaging with policymakers, experts and innovators.
